Is Only a Diet Required For Healthy Skin?

Boy did I learn a valuable lesson. The diet required for healthy skin is not much different from the one that you should be trying to follow everyday, anyway. There is a noted dermatologist that authored a book claiming that specific foods will make you look younger, in just a few days. But, when pressed by a reporter, he admitted that he simply wanted people to make more healthy food choices. So, he was appealing to their vanity.

There is no single specific diet required for healthy skin. You should eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables every day, preferably organic. You should choose lean protein from chicken, eggs, fish and turkey. If you are vegan, you can choose protein-rich soy, tofu, beans or lentils.

The value of dairy products is somewhat questionable, especially if you have acne. Studies suggest that milk and other dairy products may aggravate the condition. But, you do need to get enough calcium and vitamin D, every day. Kelp is a good source of calcium and one of the skin's functions is to synthesize vitamin D from the sun, although cosmetics and sunscreens interfere with that function.

There are individual variables that could determine the diet required for healthy skin in your own case. For example, if you are suffering from specific diseases or unwanted skin-conditions, such as acne, psoriasis or eczema, there could be specific nutritional deficiencies in your current diet.

I always recommend that you see a doctor of naturopathic medicine, a holistic practitioner or an MD that does not rely on drugs or surgical intervention. There are no quick fixes for most things, it takes a complete plan. So, even if you found a diet required for healthy skin, it would only be a single part of the plan.

To maintain the skin's health, you need gentle daily cleansing. To avoid excessive dryness, you need to avoid chlorinated water. If you live in an area that uses chlorine to kill bacteria, you need a showerhead filter.

To prevent illness and diseases in later life, you need to avoid cosmetics that contain toxins. To reduce your risk of skin-cancer, you need to avoid overexposure to the sun. To prevent toxins from clogging the pores, you need to avoid cleansers and lotions that contain petrolatum.

I mentioned earlier that the diet required for healthy skin would preferably be all organic, because of the toxins that are present in the packaged and prepared foods that we eat, the herbicides and pesticides used on most farms and simply the higher nutritional content found in organic foods. But, if you really want to delay the signs of aging and look younger, you need to use quality creams that contain the necessary nutrients to support the skin's health.

Make no mistake about it. You would want to make sure that the manufacturer tests the raw ingredients for toxic contaminants and checks each batch for purity. The ingredients to look for are those that are included in a diet required for healthy skin. It's all about the nutritional content.

Samsung LN40A650 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

First of all the Samsung LN40A650 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV. I was a little hesitant about buying a TV of this size online but now that I've gone through the process I would do it again in a heart beat.

I've had my TV for about 4 months now and I'm still completely blown away by clarity, detail and colors this set produces. The LN40A650 has three HDMI inputs on the back, and one HDMI input on the left side which made all of my electronic devices really easy to install. I then watched several movies all on Blu-ray, oh by the way movies are a great way to show off your new set.

The 40" is the only model in the 6 series that has a fan built into the screen. Some people may be put off because of this but the good news is that this fan is completely inaudible. I have never heard the fan while the set was running, so it is extremely quiet.

When I first saw the color of the set I was indifferent. I don't really care for the color red but now that I have the set, it's slowly growing on me. All of the stock Samsung photos show a vibrant red but with my 40A650 in the living room it has the perfect amount of color. It's not strong enough to steal my focus away while watching TV but at the same time it looks great when the TV is shut off.

I'd like to point out this set features a ton of options. This is both a blessing and a curse. Most features are inaccessible for one reason or another, making calibration a brain busting headache. Hours of my own tinkering has finally resulted in perfect color settings, without washing out the picture, losing precious pixels of color.

I did a lot of research before deciding on this Samsung. I wanted 1080p with Auto Motion Plus 120Hz, and I wanted at least a 40 inch screen. After spending a few hours comparing this model with comparable models, I bought this one because of the quality and features of the set.

The sound is impressive for an internal sound system. Comparing it to even the cheapest of 5.1 setups though, make this LCD's tunes seem puny and weak.

Overall I'm extremely pleased with the Samsung LN40A650 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV.

A Review on the Canon Powershot SD890 IS Digital Camera

The Canon Powershot SD890 IS Digital Camera is one of the newest cameras released by Canon. It was released in March of this year. It's priced at approximately $300, so it wasn't necessarily created with the casual photographer in mind. But as you'll soon see, it is worth the price.

We were intrigued by all of the features in this compact camera so we wanted to chat to some digital photography experts and let a few of them take this powershot out into the field and do their thing.

This ten megapixel camera promises unbelievable image resolutions. Ten megapixels are important when you like to print out large renditions of your photos. The lower levels of megapixels in certain cameras tend to turn images grainy when printed in large scale.

Unlike other canon powershot models which are made mostly out of plastic, the majority of the Canon Powershot SD890 IS digital camera is made of metal and is considered to be one of the strongest and weightiest cameras in the "compact" digital camera category, especially for the zoom quality you get.

The camera has a 5x zoom, allowing you high quality resolutions on objects that are fairly far away.
There are a large variety of shooting styles/modes in this Powershot. Our experts especially liked the focus check display mode. This particular feature identifies faces in the playback mode and then zooms in on them. This allows you to make sure that the faces are in focus. Very cool.

The lack of manual control may be frustrating for people who don't like shooting in a pre-set style. While it is true that there are plenty of pre-set options in place on this canon camera, someone who wants to have total control over image exposure might want to consider getting another of the canon digital cameras.

The SD890 IS takes a specially manufactured canon battery. These batteries are rechargeable but they are also a little on the expensive side. And charging can take up to two hours. If you are figuring on doing some time consuming shooting, you may end up spending a few bucks on backup batteries to keep yourself covered while you are in the field.

And finally...after putting the Canon Powershot SD890 IS through its paces, one of our reviewers had this to say: This is a great camera in a small package, which makes it great for people who don't want to have to lug around a huge camera just to get a quality shot. The Canon Powershot SD890 IS digital camera is the best of both worlds: professional quality photographs from a point-and-shoot pocket sized camera."

As you can see, there are plenty of positive attributes to the Canon Powershot SD890 IS Digital Camera. But it would take much more room than we have here to provide a full product report. Fortunately, there is a great resource that you can access. Go to http://www.digitalcameraproductreports.com for detailed in-depth product reports on a variety of different digital cameras in addition to the Canon Powershot SD890 IS reviewed in this article.
